Denture Design
Do you have missing teeth that need to be replaced? Our custom dentures are an efficient option to consider. Whether you have a couple of teeth that were recently extracted or you need full mouth rehabilitation, Parramatta Green Dental can find a solution that fits your goals and budget.
What Are Dentures?
A denture is a removable dental prosthesis that rests on top of your gums, filling in the space left by missing teeth. Most are made of acrylic, while others have a metal base that clips around any remaining teeth you’re able to preserve.
Types of Dentures
Your smile is different from everyone else’s. That’s why we offer various types of dentures to fit your oral health needs and lifestyle!
- Full Dentures — When you need to replace all of your upper or lower teeth at once, a full denture is the answer. Sometimes called a “plate”, the full-arch prosthesis is the most affordable option for complete mouth rehabilitation.
- Partial Dentures — A partial denture fills in the areas of your missing teeth, without extracting the healthy ones. This approach allows you to preserve as many natural teeth as possible.
- Valplast Dentures — Looking for a cosmetic partial denture that blends in with your smile? Valplast dentures are acrylic “snap-in” partials that wrap around your healthy teeth without any visible metal.
Denture Care and Maintenance
To help your prosthesis last as long as possible, you’ll want to carefully clean it each day and take it out overnight. Allow it to soak in a cleansing solution to loosen debris, then clean it thoroughly with a soft denture brush before putting it back in. Be sure to clean your gums with a washcloth or extra-soft toothbrush to reduce your risk of infection.
Adjustments and Broken Denture Repair
A broken denture requires same-day attention to help you go about your day-to-day activities. Contact our practice straightaway if your denture is broken or cracked (do not attempt to repair it yourself).
Your denture may feel as if it doesn’t fit well if your mouth has changed shape over time. Regular adjustments and relines can help your appliance to fit comfortably and securely as long as possible.
