Dental Check-up & Cleaning
Scheduling a check-up every six months is one of the best steps to ensure your teeth stay healthy for life. During the dental check-up, your dental professional will check your overall oral health for any troubled areas.
Our healthy patients should plan on scheduling a checkup every six months. If you have recently been treated for gum disease, plan on booking a periodontal maintenance appointment every 3-4 months.
During your clean, we’ll polish away surface stains to leave your smile feeling smoother and free from added discolouration. Your dental professional will carefully remove tartar and plaque buildup to create a healthy environment for your teeth and gums.
Gum Disease Screenings
If you have active periodontitis (gum disease), we will want to take certain steps to treat the infection before it leads to tooth loss. Let us know if you’re experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Swollen gums that bleed easily
Receding gumlines (“long teeth”)
Bad breath
Tooth mobility
Heavy tartar buildup
When gum disease is present, we’ll recommend a scaling and root planing (deep clean) instead of a preventative clean to halt symptoms at the source of the infection.

Feeling Anxious? We’ll Keep You at Ease!
Did you know that you can request nitrous oxide sedation (happy gas) during your scale and clean? If you generally feel nervous about seeing a dentist or have particularly sensitive teeth, we encourage you to opt for this light sedation.
What If I Need Treatment?
Should you require immediate care, we will take steps to get you out of pain on the same day. Otherwise, the necessary procedures will be booked at your earliest convenience.
How Often Do My Teeth Need to Be Cleaned?
Our healthy patients should plan on scheduling a checkup every six months. If you have recently been treated for gum disease, plan on booking a periodontal maintenance appointment every 3-4 months.
Will I Need X-rays?
We will take intermittent X-rays as needed to evaluate parts of your mouth not visible during a visual exam. Digital imaging makes it possible to screen for cavities between and inside of teeth, as well as cysts, abscesses and other concerns.
