Child Dental Benefits Schedule (Bulk Billed)
Medicare covers the expense for eligible Children aged 2-17 to receive basic dental services.
To get this your child must be:
2 to 17 years old for at least 1 day that year
2 to 17 years old for at least 1 day that year
Eligible for Medicare
Receiving a Government payment, or have a parent getting a Government payment at least once a year.
Eligible children are entitled to $1095 to allocate on dental services over a 2 calendar year period for basic dental services. The dental services your children can receive bulk billed include:
- check-ups
- X-rays
- cleaning
- fissure sealing
- fillings
- root canals
- extractions.
There are some restrictions for basic dental services. Your dentist will advise you if there are any items or time restrictions before starting your service.

No, given your child is eligible and has sufficient funds left at the time of his appointment you will not pay anything out of pocket for the appointment.
We will process a claim directly with Medicare (bulk bill)
What happens if there are not enough funds left?
If there are not enough funds left, we will consult and discuss this with you prior to commencing treatment, you will have the option to proceed with treatment paying the difference or to contact Medicare to find out when the new calendar year starts and the funds refresh!
